In a recent meeting at The State House, comedian Eddie Butita opened up on the challenges that content creators face while using Facebook to post their content.

Speaking at Meta content monetization in State House, the jester went on to admonish president Ruto to monetize the app as most content creators tend to use it for more reach.

”We’ve poured our heart and soul into creating content, with hopes that one day, we will achieve and increase our financial rewards. This is the day that our passion will translate into sustainable income.

He went on to add on how the creative industry has employed a lot of youths, who follow in the footsteps of developed content creators like Eddie Butita himself.

Eddie Butita’s Rise to Fame

Born and raised in Kariobangi, Butita mastered his comedy and entertaining skills while still in high school. He went to Butere high school for his secondary education and later pursued a course in graphic design. He then began his stage career, appearing in several TV shows in Kenya, with his comedic style of parodying the ghettolife in Africa. His professional stand up started in 2010, during the Churchill live season.

Many were surprised that a new act could keep critical crowds amused. Butita has performed in Kenya’s most popular shows: Laugh Festival, Churchill Show, Churchill Raw, Night of a Thousand Laughs

Butita has been in the Showbiz gallery as an entertainer, and is the CEO of his company, Stage Presence Media(SPM), which is growing tremendously. His appeal to the president is yet to be conglomerated in the creative space. However, Butita remains optimistic about his sentiments being materialized in future.
