Former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has told his supporters to stop piercing their bodies with tattoos of his appearance, specifically emphasizing his face.
Mike Sonko decided to record a video addressing the act, and although he acknowledged and thanked his supporters for the love they are showing for him, he advised them not to do that as there are many ways that someone can show love, and it doesn’t entirely entail piercing the face of the person on their body. Adding that he will still love them without the tattoos, as the body is the temple of Christ and it ought to be respected.
Nafurahia, your loyal support pia mimi nawapenda, but please, mimi nitawapenda bila tattoos because mwili wako ni yako na bwana yako na ya Mungu.”
As a show of gratitude and to thank the fan, the former governor has promised to meet the Murang’a lady who tattooed her face on her thigh.
“Yule dem wa Murang’a ntatafuta number yake akuje sababu yeye ni loyal supporter ntaangalia vile ntamsupport kimaisha.”
Maryanne Njoki did this as a way of showing appreciation to the former governor for all the good things he has done and keeping the consistency of putting smiles on people’s faces and homes by helping wherever he can.
She also did say that she would very much love to meet the former governor and at least get a glimpse of him by getting a hug, which she says would mean so much to her.
“I was not even thinking of meeting him when I got the tattoo. I heard that he asked for my number. When I met him, I would tell him that I loved him for his work. If he accepts a hug when we meet, I would be happy.”
Sonko, on the other hand, said that if at all there’s going to be a hug, then it should be a decent one, as he offers to listen to what the lady’s sentiments are.
