Former Classic 105 Radio Presenter, Terry Muikamba, has decided to go public after the court dismissed her 5.6 million lawsuit against Radio Africa.

She said that her intentions in filing the lawsuit was to advocate for the rights of all employees, to ensure that there’s equality amongst employers and workers.

“Two years ago, I took legal action against my former employer, it was not a decision I took lightly. My intention was to create awareness and encourage a transformative change in the workplace culture, not just for myself, but for all current and future employees.”

She said that she was just challenging the status quo and fighting against a culture that embraced toxic behavior. Adding, she was just doing what she thought is right.

Even though her petition was turned down, she believes that it would be looked into.

“Though the outcome may not have been entirely in my favor, I am happy and at peace of the stance I took. I believe that my actions and those who have come forward have already had a significant impact, they have initiated important conversations, prompted internal investigations and sparked a re-evaluation of policies within the media industry.”

She then concluded with thanking her lawyers who helped her understand the legal processes. She also did say that she hopes her story inspires and drives change to many.

“What truly matters is upholding the principle of a safe and healthy workplace moving forward, I remain resolute in my commitment to principles that transcend any legal victory or defeat. By sharing my story and advocating for change, I hope to inspire others to challenge and champion the values that underpin a healthy, respectful workplace.”

She was demanding compensation in what she termed as “unexpired contract “that was ranging at 2,160,000 which then could add up to 3 million including other general damages.

This however wasn’t ruled to her favor as the court declined the petition, granting her 6,000 only for the voice-over services that she used to do for the company and turning down the other claims from her.

Muikamba quit working for the company, claiming that the environment was not friendly, more especially to the workers.
