6 Benefits of Quitting Alcohol

Should it happen that you’re a regular or heavy drinker, it can indeed be dangerous to reduce or quit alcohol on your own. Which is why it is advisable to let your doctor walk you through it.

1.Better Sleep

After one week away from alcohol, you may notice that you’re sleeping better. When you drink, you typically fall straight into deep sleep. Alcohol is a great disruptor of quality sleep; it suppresses REM, which is responsible for regulating the circadian rhythms and is associated with creativity.

Sleep helps to balance the hormones that make you feel hungry or full. 

2. Helps You Save Money

Some alcohol brands are very expensive, and generally, drinking is way more expensive because there are some liquors and wines that can cost up to half a million. Money can indeed be used to do better things and gain better returns.

3. It reduces blood pressure.

High blood pressure is linked to alcohol consumption, and this is known to be one of the main causes of heart disease.

4. Skin health will improve.

Alcohol can cause red, blotchy, or puffy skin. Alcohol-free skin is better hydrated, removing these problems and reducing dry patches that can inflame conditions like eczema.

Alcohol increases inflammation and causes blood vessels to dilate, which can make the complexion appear red, so it is good to ensure you protect your skin from such.

5. Your memory will begin to improve.

Alcohol is proven to hinder the part of your brain that deals with memory. A bright mind can be tampered with—not necessarily whole, but it will start running low, like you might end up having a low IQ level.

6. Your mood and levels of concentration will improve.

This stems from having more energy and less fatigue, which helps you be more productive at work or at home.

Because you won’t be stressed on needing it to function, being addicted to alcohol is just like a car that will need fuel in order to run. Without it, you cannot function, and you will hardly fully concentrate. It is all linked to those who smoke as well, but quitting means that your mood level will be high, as will your conception levels.
