Littydavinci, Number One King Gray, Buruklyn Boyz, Rhymes ab, Faiye Blessings and Katempa have emerged winners of the Competition in the order they appear. Walking out with over 500,000 reward in cash.
Boomplay said that the Competition challenge they created was an initiative to provide a platform to support the growth and development of emerging artists in a bid to unearth talents in Kenya.
Over 500 audio files were sent from people all over the country who turned out in large numbers with their music set to win the rewards and be counted by Boomplay.
The first winner was to walk away with USD 1,500. While the second runner-up will take USD 1,000 as the third will receive USD 500 as well.
The Criteria that was used in shortlisting the winners was by shortlisting 50 artists based on their streams on Boom play and online judges score. Then shortlist 20 artists based on their fan votes & judges score, and lastly they involved shortlisting the top 6 winners based on votes for their performance videos that they had submitted for the final stage which were also scored by judges.
Boom play’s East Africa Managing Director, Martha Huro, acknowledged the artists who stood up to compete which she said in a statement and congratulated the winners on the same note,
