The Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, a denomination deeply rooted in the belief of a cosmic battle between good and evil, is currently facing its own internal struggles. The church, which has long preached about the spiritual warfare waged by Satan against humanity, now finds itself embroiled in a very human conflict.
A recent violent clash at the Nyabigena Adventist Church in Kisii, which left ten people injured, is the latest in a series of incidents that have tarnished the church’s image. Video footage of the brawl, showing chairs flying and people engaged in physical altercation, has sparked outrage and disbelief among the public.
While the exact cause of the fight remains unclear, online speculation points to potential financial disputes or leadership clashes as possible triggers. These internal divisions stand in stark contrast to the church’s teachings about unity and peace.

This is not the first time the SDA Church has been plagued by internal conflict. A similar incident occurred in 2019 at the Nairobi Central Seventh-day Adventist Church during a meeting about a group seeking to break away from the main congregation.
The church’s leadership is now faced with the challenge of addressing these internal issues while maintaining its moral authority. As the world watches, the SDA Church’s ability to reconcile its teachings with its actions will be put to the test.
