23-Year-Old Mechanic Found Dead in Nakuru
Police in Nakuru have arrested a woman as they investigate the death of 23-year-old boda boda mechanic Alvin Okelo Oyugi.
Oyugi’s body was discovered along a street in Zanzibar Estate, Nakuru North, on Monday morning after a resident alerted police about a man lying motionless on the road at around 7am.
Officers who arrived at the scene found him lying on his back in a pool of blood.
Police reported that he had suffered three deep stab wounds to his right thigh.
A mobile phone was recovered from his pocket, while a mountain bike with visible blood stains was found next to the body. Both items were taken as exhibits as detectives continued with their inquiries.
Last Seen at a Local Bar
Preliminary investigations indicate that Oyugi had spent part of Sunday night at a local bar.
Police said he was drinking at around 11pm in the company of two men whose identities remain unknown and a woman.
The three men reportedly accompanied the woman from the bar and walked with her to the entrance of her residence.
Oyugi was later found dead along the estate road.
The woman was arrested and remained in police custody as investigators sought to establish what happened after the group arrived at her residence.
Detectives are also working to identify the two men who were reportedly with Oyugi before his death.
His body was taken to the County Municipal Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a post-mortem examination.
Decomposing Body Retrieved From Nairobi River
In a separate incident, police in Nairobi recovered the decomposing body of an unidentified man from the Nairobi River in the Shauri Moyo area.
The body was discovered on Monday, September 7, 2026, with the incident being reported to police at approximately 8:30am through the Controller.
An initial examination did not reveal any obvious injuries on the body.
However, detectives have launched investigations to establish how the man died and the circumstances that led to his body ending up in the river.
The remains were taken to Nairobi Funeral Home pending a post-mortem examination.
Police are also working to establish the man’s identity and trace any information that could help explain his death.
Car Wash Worker Dies After Reported Electric Shock
In Mombasa, a 20-year-old car wash employee died after reportedly suffering an electric shock while operating a high-pressure washing machine.
The deceased, identified as Joackim Onyango, was cleaning the electric equipment at a car wash in Aldina when the incident occurred.
His colleagues reportedly rushed him to Mikindani Hospital for emergency medical attention.
However, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Crime Scene Investigation officers visited the location, photographed and processed the scene as police began examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Onyango’s body was later transferred to the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
Investigators are expected to establish whether there were any electrical or safety faults at the workplace that may have contributed to the incident.
