Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya has responded to critics trolling him concerning the opinions he shared concerning climate change.

Salasya released a statement earlier today, telling those who are criticizing his English to consider trying to vie for a parliamentary seat as well, considering the fact that they are priding themselves on their mastery of the language and topic.

“All those idiots criticizing me on Twitter on how I responded on #SPM about #Climatechange wakwende uko na kizungu yao. Wasimame kura pia wawe wabunge in the constituencies.”

Adding that what he was elected to do is totally different and whatever he said concerning climate change doesn’t in any way relate to what Kenyans elected him for, he termed it as not one of the things on his priority list that should worry him.

“Politics ni local wakwende na kizungu yao. I was not elected to talk about climate change, idiots, munsikie.”

Salasya was heavily criticized on Monday following his lack of awareness of what climate change basically entails.

In an interview he had with our very own journalist, Silvakido, he seemed to fall out of subject and give out irrelevant answers as to what climate change basically means.

A sneak preview of what Salasya was asked is how he was championing climate change when he slipped and started saying that the majority of people use firewood, and they are now planning to introduce something new, which is bringing in gas cooktops and Jiko.

Clearly, that statement is out of context and way too far from what the question is asking.
