Musician Wahu Kagwi has stood up to online critics on her body.

The Mother of three has gone to her social media to address the online drama following a picture she posted on her page.

“So Yesterday I posted a picture of myself during the first joint committee meeting under the Talanta Hela initiative, saying how excited I was about where we’re going….but, what took precedence on that is the amount of weight that I’ve gained.”

She admitted having gained weight considering the fact that she was preganant.

“Sure, I have added a lot of weight 22.5 kgs to be exact actually, for those who know me, I always add weight. When I was Pregnant with Tumiso, I added 27kgs.”

She went on acknowledging the positive comments that were left on her page to women who stood with her, shunning the ones who were speaking badly of her.

“Clearly, more and more of us are leaning towards positive vibes on social media, and I thank you for this.”

She also encouraged women who have ever been subject to such bullying, telling them it is not really a reflection of them.

“Secondly, to anyone whose ever been body-shamed, remember, what the shamers say is not a reflection of you.. It’s really a reflection of the quality of person they are.Wewe uko tu sawa… so don’t take their negativity to heart.”

She lastly clarified the issue, saying that the essence of her sharing this Information is to give hope to others who have ever been in such a situation.

“I’m not posting this because I’m upset zii… unajua, ukijijua, not many external things can get to you….. I’m sharing this for us to take note that there is hope for a more positive living environment, and also to encourage anyone who’s been a victim of any kind of hate.”
