In a dramatic Champions League semi-final first leg, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior emerged as the hero. The Brazilian forward scored twice, including a crucial penalty in the 83rd minute, to secure a 2-2 draw at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

Vinicius broke the deadlock for Real Madrid midway through the first half. However, Bayern fought back fiercely in the second half. Leroy Sane opened their scoring with a fantastic goal, followed shortly by a Harry Kane penalty.

Just as the German giants seemed to have stolen the advantage, Vinicius won a penalty for Real Madrid late in the game. He kept his cool under pressure, converting the spot-kick to snatch a vital away draw.

This result puts Real Madrid in a strong position heading back to their home stadium, the Santiago Bernabeu, for the return leg.

Borussia Dortmund will face PSG today in a highly anticipated UCL semi-final.
