Kenyan socialite Vera Sidika weighed in on the recent controversy surrounding Anerlisa Muigai’s request for financial help to bail out her fiancé, Josiah Kariuki.
The drama unfolded after private messages emerged showing Muigai reaching out to friends in a closed WhatsApp group for assistance with Kariuki’s bail. The situation sparked debate about appropriate boundaries between friends and financial responsibility in relationships.
Kariuki’s legal troubles stemmed from alleged involvement in a substandard fertilizer case. Muigai reportedly sought help after his bail amount exceeded expectations.

Known for her outspokenness, Sidika addressed the situation during an Instagram Q&A. While disapproving of friends leaking private messages, she also questioned the legitimacy of the fundraising request.
Sidika pointed out Kariuki’s image of wealth and argued that a truly affluent individual would likely have resources to handle legal issues discreetly, potentially instructing Muigai to contact his lawyer for bail funds.
She expressed her disapproval, stating, “[Muigai], why would you fundraise for a guy that looks like he has money?”
Sidika further criticized Kariuki for potentially jeopardizing Muigai’s image as a successful businesswoman by involving her in the situation.
She concluded by emphasizing that a financially secure partner should manage their own legal matters without placing such burdens on their significant other or friends.
