Suspects Tracked Down After Tip-Off
Police officers in Kisauni Sub-County have arrested two men linked to the violent death of Stephen Opello, who was attacked on November 22, 2025, in Chembani, Mtopanga. The suspects were traced to their hideout after members of the public shared crucial information with authorities.

Those arrested have been identified as Julius Otieno Mageta, popularly known as Junior, and Mohammed Omar Hamisi, alias Babu.

According to police reports, the two allegedly confronted Opello and subjected him to a vicious beating that left him with severe injuries. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.
Final Moments at Hospital
Good Samaritans rushed Opello to Coast General Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite medical efforts, he later died while receiving treatment due to the extent of his injuries.
