Sting Operation Nets Two Suspected Bandits

The duo is believed to be part of a gang that has been terrorizing travellers along the Eldoret–Malaba highway through night-time ambushes and violent robberies.

Police Surveillance Pays Off

According to reports, detectives had been tracking the suspects for several days after a surge in robbery cases along the route. Acting on intelligence, the officers moved in swiftly and captured the two before they could carry out another planned attack.

Recovery of Stolen Items

During interrogation, the suspects led police to hideouts near River Nzoia and Nabuyola Village, where stolen property was stashed. Recovered items included three 6kg gas cylinders, assorted electronics, and vehicle batteries all believed to have been taken from motorists attacked along the highway.

Security Tightened Along the Highway

Police say the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue ahead of their court appearance. In the meantime, security patrols have been boosted along the Eldoret–Malaba route to curb further incidents and apprehend other members of the criminal network still at large.
