Main Story:

Intelligence-led raid in Molo

Acting on information from residents, the NPS conducted a targeted dawn operation in the Tayari area of Molo Sub-County, Nakuru. The house under surveillance was believed to be a hub for online fraud and digital impersonation.

Recovery of tools used for fraud

When officers entered the property, they found and seized hundreds of SIM cards, several national IDs (both genuine and suspected fake), numerous mobile phones and motor vehicle parts items thought to be linked to the syndicate’s operations. Investigators say the materials point to a sophisticated network using both mobile and cyber-channels.

Arrests and ongoing manhunt

Eight suspects were taken into custody at the scene. Two others fled during the raid and police have launched a manhunt to track them down. The recovered exhibits are now being analysed to trace the scope and links of the syndicate.

Police say digital crime won’t go unchecked

In a statement, the NPS said the raid is part of a broader crackdown on technology-based crime. The service urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue reporting suspicious online activity, saying that combating cyber fraud requires cooperation, intelligence and multi-agency coordination.
