Ssaru Responds To Ezekiel Mutua Claims That Her Hit Song Shouldn’t Be Recommended

Kenyan artist Sylivia Ssaru has responded to the claims of the CEO in charge of the Music Copyright Society Of Kenya (MCSK), Ezekiel Mutua.

She said that the CEO needs to listen to her entire music catalog before criticizing it.

“If Ezekiel Mutua listened to my other songs, like my recent hit with a Rhumba taste, he would judge it differently.”

She went on saying that she wouldn’t release music just because one person disapproved of it, recommending that he go check out her YouTube channel.

The song that Ezekiel Mutua was throwing shade at is ‘Kasikie Vibaya, a Gengetone song that features Fathermoh and has over 7 million views on YouTube and is still counting.

According to Ezekiel Mutua, the song is misleading a young generation and shouldn’t be hyped by citizens as it has bad morals.

“People are going through a lot. Have you heard the song about the lady singing ‘Niko napesa na ni ya babako’? What are you telling my daughter? Ezekiel raised his concerns in a live interview with Eve.

Her goes on to call out Kenyan artists to step up their game and release music that instills hope and inspiration, adding that as far as they are interested in getting attention, likes, and more views, they should also ensure that whatever they are doing is not only benefiting them alone but also having a positive impact on society.
