Main Story
Disbursement Goes Live
The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection has confirmed the release of the Inua Jamii stipends for September 2025. Beneficiaries under the scheme are set to receive KSh 2,000 for the month. Payments are being processed through certified payment agents spread across all counties.

Beneficiary Categories
Inua Jamii targets three primary groups:
- Older persons aged 70 years and above
- Individuals living with severe disabilities
- Orphans and other vulnerable children
These categories align with Kenya’s broader social safety net initiatives aimed at shielding marginalized populations from economic stress.
Safeguards & Integrity Measures
Officials have warned the public to only collect funds at recognized agents and avoid intermediaries who may exploit vulnerable beneficiaries. The Ministry has also reaffirmed efforts to strengthen data systems, biometric verification, and accountability protocols to ensure smooth and accurate disbursements.
Earlier in 2025, disbursement setbacks caused payments for June and July to be delayed. To resolve that, the government released KSh 4.6 billion to cover the two months. Those delays were largely due to a nationwide data cleanup exercise, prompting reforms to avoid similar issues in future cycles.
Social protection isn’t just about monthly payouts it’s about peace of mind for those who need it most.
