The most widely talked about topic was the Anti-government demonstrations, which went on for weeks.

The president resolved the issue of the cabinet secretaries in a matter of days; but at what price?
Well, numerous Kenyans lost their lives during the demonstrations while a good number of them got bullet wounds or were injured in one way or the other.

Ruto’s accusations
During the demonstrations, president Ruto accused some of the youth to be hooligans infiltrating the peaceful demonstrations.
“It is not in order, or even conceivable, that criminals pretending to be peaceful protesters can reign terror against the people, their elected representatives, and the institutions established under our Constitution and expect to go scot-free,” the president said.
Speaking in a recent rally, the president accused Ford Foundation for being the sponsors of the chaos.
”Wale ambao wana sponsor hio violence, sisi tunawajua. And I want to call out those who are behind the anarchy in Kenya, those who are behind sponsoring of chaos in Kenya. Shame on them because they’re sponsoring violence against our democratic nation. Mimi nataka niulize watu wa Ford Foundation watuambie hio pesa wanatoa ifanye fujo ndio wapate faida gani?”
President Ruto promised to bundle out the foundation if they don’t change.
