President Ruto promises to compensate evacuated flood victims with money

Kenyan President William Ruto has promised to compensate all those who have fallen victim to the heavy rains that have displaced many.

Speaking while addressing a gathering in Mathare, the Kenya Kwanza leader assured them that they have taken the names of all those who were affected by the floods and that the government will compensate them with money that will enable them afford food and rent for a while as the government is working to see how they can help them find stability.

Every household of the 40,000 households that have been displaced in Nairobi County will be paid 10,000 Ksh so that they can find alternative accommodation as we plan for their future as a government so that every Kenyan has a place to call home,” President Ruto assured the Kibera residents.

Governor Sakaja, together with CS Moses Kuria and the company of other leaders, also paid a visit to families in Mathare affected by floods and donated food, among other essentials.

Over the past two weeks, the country has been experiencing heavy rains that have been sweeping everything on its way, displacing millions and even taking lives.
