Main Story:

A disturbing incident in Kitengela has left a junior police officer dead following a violent altercation with his senior colleague both allegedly dating the same woman.

Police Constable Manasseh Ithiru, who was attached to Kitengela Police Station, died after reportedly being thrown from the fourth-floor balcony of Geoffrey Flats, an apartment block along Deliverance Road.

Constable Ithiru is said to have visited his 27-year-old girlfriend, Irene Wavinya Nzioka, at her residence in Room 416. Hours later, Sergeant Abubakar Said, attached to the CIPU EPZ Camp in Athi River, arrived at the same apartment apparently unaware of the junior officer’s presence.

What followed was a violent confrontation between the two officers. Witness reports and early police findings suggest that the sergeant overpowered Constable Ithiru and allegedly pushed him over the balcony railing during the fight.

The officer’s body was discovered in the apartment’s parking lot by responding officers from the DCI and CSI units based in Kitengela. He had sustained multiple injuries, including severe trauma to the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The body was transferred to Shalom Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.

Both Sergeant Said and Irene Nzioka have been taken into police custody. They are assisting detectives as investigations continue to uncover the full details of the incident.

Authorities are treating the death as suspicious and are expected to review CCTV footage and conduct interviews as part of the probe.
