Main Story:
President William Ruto has made a fresh push to encourage young Kenyans to seek employment opportunities overseas, highlighting the government’s ongoing Kazi Majuu initiative as a major success story.
Speaking at State House Nairobi during a meeting with more than 600 leaders from the African Independent Pentecostal Church of Africa (AIPCA), Ruto revealed that over 400,000 Kenyan youth have already secured jobs abroad through the programme.

The President appealed to religious leaders to play a more active role in guiding young people toward such opportunities, noting that the church has a unique position of influence within communities.
“Let us work together to open up the world for our youth,” Ruto urged, emphasizing the potential of global employment to ease the burden of youth unemployment in Kenya.
Launched to address rising joblessness among the youth, Kazi Majuu connects Kenyans with vetted work opportunities in foreign countries. It aims to not only provide income but also foster skill development and international experience.
Ruto’s call aligns with his administration’s broader agenda to empower the youth economically and expand their horizons beyond Kenya’s borders.
Is the world your next workplace? Ruto thinks it should be — and he’s counting on the church to help make it happen.
