American rapper and songwriter Nicki Minaj is facing a $5 million lawsuit from a superfan who claims she slandered him, caused emotional distress, and damaged his reputation.
The fan, Tameer Peak, says that after years of being one of Minaj’s most dedicated supporters, their relationship took a dark turn, leading to a series of public humiliations and personal attacks by the rapper and her husband, Kenneth Petty.
Tameer Peak, a devoted follower of Nicki Minaj for over 15 years, claims the fallout began in 2017 during what he describes as Minaj’s “Nicki Hate Train” period. He alleges that during this time, Minaj became paranoid and accused some fans of being moles sent to sabotage her career, targeting Peak among them.
In a lawsuit filed in L.A. Superior Court, Peak details how Minaj’s treatment of him escalated during an Instagram Live session, where he claims she berated him in front of over 100,000 viewers, leaving him humiliated and distressed.
He also recalls another incident during Super Bowl weekend in 2020, when Minaj allegedly invited him to her hotel room only to ridicule him publicly once more.

Allegations of Assault by Kenneth Petty
Peak’s lawsuit takes an even darker turn, alleging that Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, physically assaulted him during the Super Bowl event in 2020. After the altercation, Peak claims that Minaj acknowledged the incident in a direct message but did not apologize for her husband’s actions.
He also accused Minaj of posting several negative comments about him on social media, including calling him “one sandwich short of a picnic” and suggesting that he was mentally unstable.
The lawsuit argues that these public comments severely damaged Peak’s reputation, causing significant emotional distress and financial losses.
Once a loyal fan who supported Minaj’s 2023 album Pink Friday 2, Peak now finds himself seeking $5 million in damages to recover from the harm he says Minaj has caused.
Minaj’s Response to the Lawsuit
Nicki Minaj’s attorney, Judd Burstein, has firmly denied the accusations, calling them “manifestly false allegations” and claiming that Peak has been harassing the rapper for years.
Burstein said that the lawsuit lacks merit and aims to extort money from Minaj. He added that Peak will regret taking legal action when California law forces him to pay her legal fees.
