Following the demise of Nollywood actor John Okafor, his TikTok account has been taken over by her stepdaughter, who has gone ahead and renamed it to her name, Jasmine Okafor’s. Mr. Ibu’s videos were also removed from the account.

The reason behind this is still unknown, as many are questioning Jasmine for doing so, and she also has her own TikTok account that has a large following and good numbers.

In October 2023, Okafor revealed health challenges that threatened the amputation of one of his legs, seeking public support for prayers and financial assistance.

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation covered his hospital bill, but ongoing assistance was required for his sustained care and treatment abroad.

Facing a serious illness that necessitated seven surgeries, Okafor underwent a leg amputation in November 2023.

He passed away on March 2, 2024, at Evercare Hospital in Lagos, succumbing to cardiac arrest.

He is famously known as Mr Ibu and word has it that he had a cardiac arrest.

“Rest well, sir,” said actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie in her tribute. Law professor and former UN rapporteur Joy Ezeilo said the actor was a “beloved” figure who “brought laughter to many”.

Before his acting career, Mr. Ibu had a diverse background as a boxer, football coach, and karate practitioner.

He was married twice and fathered more than 10 children, with one known to have passed away.
