Mimi Siwaekangi Kabisaa! ~ Jaguar On Why Many Artists Don’t Pick His Calls

Kenyan former artist Jaguar, who is now a politician, has shared the reason why many artists ignore his phone calls.

Charles Njagua Kanyi ‘Jaguar’

Speaking yesterday at the 7Hm event night, he said that the reason is that he normally lectures all the artists that aren’t competent enough and calls a spade a spade, especially on those who are lazy and are relying on the public for help.

“Mimi najua wasanii wengi wanaonanga simu yangu wanakosa kuchukua kwa sababu nitakusomea… Mimi siogopangi mtu anichukie.” Jaguar said.

The ‘Huu Mwaka’ hit maker added that very many artists know him and normally conspire against him by misinforming other artists to not send their track to him before releasing it because he might turn it down and lecture you.

Jaguar is a guru in the music industry, having been in the game for over 15 years. He believes that Kenyan artists should understand that music is competitive and business, and rather than artists insisting that local content be played in the country, the Kenyan artists should work hard to see that what they are producing is a hit song and loved by many, as they can’t decide what the audience can consume.

He went on to urge the newly signed artists to always remember that they are in a competitive field and to put in the work so that they also thrive, as titles mean nothing if there are no deliverables.

“Unaeza signiwa na Guardian Angel, Jaguar, President Ruto na kama hujui music ni competetition na yule unacompete na yeye ni adui yako hakuna mahali tutaenda.” Jaguar added.

He advised artists to always work to produce the best tracks and not just release music for the sake of it, as something good will still be recognized even if it’s not played worldwide. It will still shine and be spotted.
