William Ruto recently addressed the protests which led to deaths of dozens. He termed the protestors as treasonous and criminals.

Miguna’s message

The lawyer has expressed his disenchantment with Ruto, stating that Kenyans are no longer interested in his leadership.

Mr. William Ruto, Kenyans have rejected you in their millions. They have rejected you in all cities, towns and villages in Kenya. This is not a small thing. Kenyans of all generations have rejected you. It is not just the Gen Z, it is not just the Millenials, it is not the so called criminals that infiltrated the protests. The protests have been peaceful and have been led by well educated, articulate, focused and disciplined Kenyans. They made a very simple demand that you should have met. They said withdraw finance bill 2024. You could have done that last week.

Miguna further urged Ruto to do away with the finance bill. He also calibrated that the finance bill wasn’t proposed nor drafted by Kenyans, adding that it wouldn’t work in any way for Kenyans

”You ought not to have tabled it in parliament because this is an alien anti-people bill which was drafted by the IMF & world bank in Washington. It is not our bill. Kenyans are taxed to death.

Miguna threatened Ruto might lose his presidential seat if he doesn’t listen to grievances of the people.

”Listen to us, we are not begging, we’re making demands. And we’re saying if you don’t withdraw finance bill 2024 and you don’t resign, we will remove you from power.”
