Maandy Claps back at a fan trolling her for releasing seductive music only

Kenyan female artist Maandy Kabaya has dismissed allegations that she is only recording seductive songs.

Highlights

  • Maandy Claps back at a fan claiming her music is entirely seductive.
  • The Origin of the online drama

The fan’s comment, implied that Mandy’s artistry solely relied on sexual appeal, a statement that didn’t seem to sit well with the rising star.

Responding to the fan identified as Polo Kimani, Maandy wrote;

Whenever it’s time to discredit someone, you’re very loud. Mi ni mtu nikona extensive catalogue unaandika shallow takes na kudiss dem just because the audience chooses which of my songs to make popular.Wacha kutumia akili kama accessory na kutype ufala. Achana na mimi weh mbleina.” Maandy wrote on her Twitter account.

Having been watching closely, Kimani responded back to Mandy telling her that he was sharing his opinion on her music and had no intentions of discrediting her.

“I am not discrediting you; I am simply stating that the music you’re putting out here is not good for sustainability. Do music as an artist. Weka art kwa mziki wako.” Part of Kimani’s statement read:

Kimani’s post has since sparked a broader conversation about female artists being held to unrealistic standards that don’t apply to male artists in the industry.

However Maandy on the other hand still remains firm that she has a clean record, and doesn’t need to prove it to anyone.

“Anyone who can find me rapping more than 3 “h***y” lines on one song kwa my last 2 releases post it.I’ll send you 20k sahi. Msirun narrative ya uongo sauti ndio s**y sio lyrics Make your easy 20k on a Tuesday morning.” Maandy wrote on her page.

Where it all started

The whole conversation was sparked by Polo Kimani’s post which read;

“GenZ artists, you need to get serious with music. What you’re singing these days is not sustainable. Maandy, the short round one, has been singing about how horny she is in the last 6 tracks she released, Wengine ni bangi na Miraa. There is a reason we listen to Jaguar’s music up to date.” Polo Kimani’s statement Read:
