Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli has confirmed that police recovered several items from a vehicle parked outside the home of businessman and Safina Party leader Jimi Wanjigi.
Following a raid on Wanjigi’s Muthaiga residence amid the August 8 “Nane Nane” protests, police discovered and seized two Motorola gadgets, seven mobile phone chargers, one mobile phone, and four tear gas canisters. The occupants of the vehicle had already fled the scene.

Masengeli linked the findings to an ongoing investigation into Wanjigi’s potential involvement in the protests that have gripped Nairobi. He urged the businessman to present himself at a nearby police station to assist with the investigation.
Earlier in the day, police had towed away a Toyota Landcruiser Prado parked outside Wanjigi’s home, adding to the drama surrounding the incident.
The protests, driven by concerns over corruption, economic hardships, and governance, have seen widespread demonstrations across the country.
