Kenyan artist and entrepreneur KRG the Don has criticized recent protests by young Kenyans, calling them disrespectful and disruptive to those trying to make a living.

KRG took to Instagram to express his frustration, claiming these young people, often referred to as Generation Z, lack real-world experience. He argued that they shouldn’t be disrupting businesses and livelihoods while offering advice to President Ruto, a man who has been in government for decades.

Influence of drugs, according to KRG

The musician, who recently claimed that he’s taking a break from music to focus on business, blamed the youth stating that they consume excess drugs that barr them from making rational decisions like accepting dialogue with the president.

”Drugs sio kitu poa maze. Yaani our youths have consumed so much substances hadi they don’t wanna reason with elders anymore. It’s so sad btw… Kenya is bigger than Gen Z or any group of people,” he wrote.

KRG further urged the young protestors to consider the impact of their actions on ordinary people struggling to pay bills and run businesses. He suggested waiting for the 2027 elections if they believe they have better solutions to offer the country.

KRG’s message highlights the generation gap in Kenyan politics. While some young people advocate for change through protest, others believe more traditional methods like voting are more effective.
