Main Story:

End of a Historic Tenure

Kenya Police FC has officially announced that it has mutually parted ways with head coach Etienne Ndayiragije, marking the end of one of the most successful chapters in the club’s history.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Law Enforcers said the decision took effect on October 29, 2025, allowing the Burundian tactician to explore new opportunities after an exceptional run that redefined the club’s footballing identity.

Ndayiragije joined Police FC in November 2024, inheriting a side battling near the bottom of the FKF Premier League table. Within months, he transformed the team’s fortunes culminating in their first-ever league title during the 2024–2025 season, a feat that elevated the club into Kenya’s football elite.

Continental Journey and Controversy

Under his guidance, Police FC earned a spot in the CAF Champions League, marking the club’s debut on the continental stage. Despite showing promise, their campaign ended in the second qualifying round after a 4–1 aggregate defeat to Sudan’s Al Hilal Omdurman.

The club later filed a formal protest to CAF, alleging that Al Hilal had fielded ineligible players a case that remains under review.

Praise and Farewell

In its farewell message, the club’s board praised Ndayiragije for his “professionalism, leadership, and unwavering dedication,” crediting him for steering the team to unprecedented success.

“The Board and Executive extend their heartfelt gratitude and wish Coach Etienne success as he embarks on new challenges,” read part of the statement.

What Next for Police FC?

As the search for a new head coach begins, Police Bullets head coach David Bujego has reportedly taken charge of interim training sessions, ensuring continuity as the club looks to build on its recent success.

Before joining Kenya Police FC, Ndayiragije managed several top sides, including the Burundi and Tanzania national teams, Azam FC, and Vital’O FC, earning a reputation as one of East Africa’s most tactically astute coaches.

Etienne Ndayiragije may be leaving, but his legacy at Kenya Police FC of discipline, strategy, and triumph will remain etched in the club’s history.
