Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has donated 50,000 ksh to the family of the late Rex, who died while protesting against the 2024 Finance Bill.
She decided to do so because she loves young people and felt it was the right thing to do, since the death of the young citizen has caught the eyes of many and the way it happened so fast and in an unfortunate way.
Karen Nyamu, who was speaking to one of Rex’s close family members, explained why she couldn’t make it to physically visit them, saying it was because she was informed that her presence there could put her in jeopardy.
“Nilikua nataka kukuja sana hapo lakini security wangu akani advise nisikuje juu niko pande ya serikali…nikikuja hapo marafiki wake wanaeza kua triggered.
She however promised that she will see her soon and work something out for her.
Nitakuja kukuona baadaye…tupange mambo pia ya kazi yako and all that,” Karen Nyamu explained.
Basically, her call was to clarify that she was together with Rex’s family despite the inconveniences that befell them and confirm if they had received the ransom money that she had sent in support of their family.
What Happened to Rex
