RNB Artist Justin Bieber has sold his rights to his music catalog.
He has joined other growing artists like Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake among many others who have also cashed in their catalogues atleast way back.
Justin Bieber has been pointed out as one of the biggest catalogues ever made.
Justin Bieber’s Manager has said that Justin’s move is just the beginning of greater things to come.
“Justin is truly a once in a generation artist, and that is reflected and acknowledged by the magnitude of this deal….. For 15 Years I have been grateful to witness this journey, and today I am happy for all those involved. Justin’s Greatness is just beginning.”
This decision implies that Hipgnosis (The Company that Justin has sold rights to) will receive a payment every time a song it owns is streamed or used on air, thus radio or Television.
The Company acquired Justin Bieber Publishing Rights, in the sense that they get to own some certain part of the artist’s music, They also got the original master recording of his tracks which is all the tracks released up to 31st December 2021.
The figures are not yet clear as to how much the total costs, but it’s estimated to be around $200 million, which is equivalent to 24 billion ksh.
