Jalang’o praises Morara Kebaso’s efforts in exposing corruption (Video)

Activist and lawyer Morara Kebaso has shown immense improvement in his endeavours when it comes to exposing corrupt leaders in the 254.

His work has been recognized by renowned leaders for his work; despite taking a long break.

Langata MP Jalango is among them; and he recently acknowledged him for his work.

”When Morara comes to Langata I will not see a project that Jalang’o started and it’s not completed. Morara will find himself not very useful when he comes to look for projects in Langata because all our projects are completely done,” he started off.

Heavy J further explained the cons of joining politics for Kebaso

”But I’m happy that he’s coming out to show whatever he’s doing. But for Morara he should learn that he’s not on social media anymore, he’s in politics. And politics is not everyone’s cup of tea. People can love you online but they can’t love you everywhere,” he wrote.

Kebaso’s rise to fame

At 28 years old, Morara has taken the internet by storm with his impressive impersonations of President William Ruto. Just weeks ago, he was relatively unknown, but now he has gained over 50,000 TikTok followers in just a few days, becoming a sensation online.

Kebaso, who owns Morara Home Furniture and employs over 85 people, had the idea to mimic President Ruto after realizing he could capture both the speech patterns and mannerisms of the leader. He even incorporated Ruto’s signature style, donning Kaunda suits and driving sunroofed Prados.

“I’ve had this suit in my closet for a while. When the idea struck me, I decided to wear it, but it was long-sleeved. I took it to a tailor to shorten the sleeves like the President’s,” Kebaso explains.

In his videos, he often stands atop a car—a signature move of President Ruto’s—while also addressing his “nation” from behind a podium adorned with the national coat of arms. One of his most popular TikTok clips, where he mimics a presidential speech, has garnered over a million views and thousands of likes.

“I never expected such a response,” Kebaso admits. “I joined TikTok in July, and the followers came pouring in. Clearly, my content resonates with Kenyans.”

While he doesn’t consider himself a content creator, Kebaso sees his role as one of informing the public in a relatable way.

“Ruto enjoys speaking to Kenyans from atop cars, so I adopted that style to communicate effectively,” he states. “I aim to educate while entertaining, using creativity to share civic education.”

Despite recent government crackdowns on critics, Kebaso feels no fear.

“I know the law and believe I’m not breaking any. Fear is my biggest enemy, and I encourage others to live boldly,” he says. “If they want to come for me, I’m ready to defend myself in court. My wife is also prepared to bail me out if needed. I refuse to be ruled by fear.”

As a married father of two, Kebaso hopes to inspire Kenyan youth by sharing his entrepreneurial journey. He started hustling at 16, trying various businesses before finding success in furniture.

“I’ve done everything from owning a hotel to being a waiter. Each experience shaped my path,” he reveals.

Kebaso’s activism is notable, but he has no intentions of running for office, fearing that politics would compromise his values. “Politics is corrupt. To be successful in that arena often means sacrificing honesty,” he shares.

Despite the risks, his family fully supports his endeavors.

“My wife is behind me all the way. She’s sometimes worried but is ready for anything, even setting aside savings for my bail,” he adds.

As Morara Kebaso continues to entertain and educate, his viral presence serves as a reminder of the power of creativity and courage in challenging times.
