Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odwiour, popularly known as ‘Jalang’o’ or Heavy J, has roughly shared an estimate on how much his top two Kenyan radio presenters earn, having been one before he joined politics.
According to Jalang’o, Maina Kageni and King’ang’i ‘Churchill’, who present the morning show at Classic 105, are the ones topping his list as those who are the best paid in the country for their expertise.
“Mtu kama Maina na King’ang’i unadhani wanalipwa doh ngapi? Walifika, millioni mbili, tatu kitambooh wale ni matajiri! “
He spoke highly of them not only because of how well they are converse with current affairs but also because of their hard work and consistency in sticking to the same radio and expertise to be able to establish a fan base that cannot be broken anytime soon.

He explained further that Maina has won hearts of many to a point whereby the company itself is making a lot more by having Maina in the show.
“Maina akienda on air every break there’s a commercial and they are all sponsored. When Maina sits down on a show like this, anakumakia kama 10 million per day mbona usimpatie hata tano akikuitisha? kwa sababu akijitoa hapo utado?” Jalango said.
