Main Story:
Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha Duale has put Dr. Swarup Mishra a former MP and prominent medical practitioner on notice over his alleged link to illegal organ trafficking. Speaking publicly, Duale stated that if evidence confirms the accusations, Mishra could face prosecution, deportation, and the shutdown of his Mediheal hospitals.

The allegations have placed Mediheal Group of Hospitals under the microscope, with claims surfacing about unethical organ transplants and the exploitation of vulnerable patients.
According to the Ministry of Health, investigations are underway into transplant procedures allegedly carried out at Mishra’s medical facilities. Authorities suspect some may have been conducted without proper ethical clearances or with donors being coerced or misled.
The CS emphasized that any facility found guilty of breaking Kenya’s medical and human rights laws will face severe consequences. “No one is above the law, regardless of their former titles or investments,” she said.
Mishra, who holds Indian citizenship, may be deported if found complicit. CS Duale affirmed that the government is working closely with investigative bodies and medical boards to ensure full accountability.
When health turns into a business of exploitation, the public deserves answers and justice.
