Main Story:

Mwanambeyu Girls High School has earned a historic spot at the national KSSSA girls’ football tournament, making them the first from Kwale County to achieve this milestone. Coach Joseph Oyoo hailed the students’ determination, crediting the principal and staff for nurturing a winning culture.

The team has landed in one of the most competitive pools—Group B—where they will go head-to-head with Nairobi’s Dagoretti Mixed, Madira Girls from Western, and Nyanza’s Kobala. Their opening clash against Dagoretti will be one to watch.

From July 29 to August 2, Kakamega’s Bukhungu Stadium will host students from all over Kenya in football, volleyball, netball, basketball, and racket sports. The tournament not only crowns champions—it also serves as a scouting ground for emerging talent.

This year’s edition will run under stricter enforcement. A digital Player Information System has been introduced to ensure only eligible students participate, following past allegations of age-cheating and player poaching.
