Speaking during a church service on Sunday, October 6, the deputy president asked Ruto to forgive him if he felt offended in any way.
“I want to say that in our commitment to work, probably in one way or another way, we have wronged somebody. I want to say to my brother, President William Ruto, if in our zeal to work I have wronged you, please find it in your heart to forgive me.
“If my spouse, in our duties for the boy child and our programs, has wronged you in any way, find it in your heart to forgive her,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua’s Plea to the Public
He also urged the public to remain irrespective of the outcome of his impeachment motion that has already been tabled.
“I want to call on the people of Kenya to remain peaceful, united, and love one another. Keep seeking peace and continuing to love one another, marry, and keep doing business together, and don’t let politics threaten our peaceful coexistence with one another because Kenya is bigger than all of us.” Gachagua said:
Meanwhile, the Dp has hired a 20-member legal team stewarded by Senior Counsel Paul Muite to put up a defense for him as he challenges his impeachment.
The National Assembly has scheduled a plenary during which the deputy president will present himself to shake himself off the charges forming the basis for his proposed impeachment.
According to Gachagua’s accusers, he has breached Article 10 of the Constitution by making provocative and imprudent remarks in public that have the potential to inspire ethnic hatred.
He is also being accused of gross violation of article 147, 148, 174, 186 and 189.
