Main Story:
The Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB), backed by the DCI Headquarters Operations Team, launched a well-planned operation that led to the arrest of eight suspects in Makueni County. Authorities believe the group forms part of a wider robbery network responsible for a series of violent attacks across Kenya.
Trail of Violence and Fear
For months, the suspects have been on the radar of detectives. Their crimes spanned major towns, including Nairobi, Nakuru, and Mombasa, where they allegedly carried out high-profile break-ins and left behind heavy financial losses for businesses.

One of their most brazen robberies took place on August 22, 2025, when a group of up to 30 armed men stormed Century Mabati Ltd in Nakuru. The gang looted steel coils, machinery, and even made away with a tuk-tuk before disappearing into the night.
Investigations revealed the group’s base of operations stretches across Nairobi’s Dandora, Kenol, and Kariobangi estates, where planning and coordination of the robberies reportedly took place.
Detectives scored a breakthrough after intercepting a lorry, registration KBK 616W/ZC 4758, filled with goods stolen from a Nyali, Mombasa heist. The seizure dealt a heavy blow to the gang’s supply chain and provided crucial evidence for the case.
Alongside the arrests, police recovered a Toyota Porte (registration KDP 805X), believed to have been used as a getaway car. Crude weapons and even a Century Mabati-branded apron were also seized.

The suspects remain in custody as investigators build their case. Police expect multiple charges to follow as efforts to fully dismantle the syndicate continue.
