DCI DETECTIVES ARE RUNNING DNA TESTS ON THE SAMPLES COLLECTED FROM JEFF MWATHI’S BODY.

The Directorate Criminal Investigatory team has announced that it’s finalizing the final samples on the report of Jeff Mwathi.

They had initially gone to collect samples from Jeff Mwathi’s body, which was exhumed for such an exercise to take place.

Speaking through their Social media page, they have informed the public that they are almost there and in due time they will receive a full report as to what happened to the late 23-year-old Jeff.

“Detectives based at the DCI Homicide department are finalizing their investigations following the death of Jeff Mwathi, 23, who died on February 22, 2023, in unclear circumstances.”

In a case that has attracted a lot of public interest, the DCI Director, Mr Mohamed Amin, ordered fresh investigations into the young man’s mysterious death, to establish in greater detail the circumstances leading to his demise on that fateful morning.
So far, the Homicide team and Crime Scene experts based at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory have re-visited the scene, conducted a scientific scene reconstruction exercise and recorded fresh statements from witnesses in a bid to unravel the death mystery.”

They have also said that they are samples that were taken which are being run so that to determine if the 23-year-old was sexually abused or drunk. As per the DCI, they all await the Government pathologist to give them a final report as to whose responsible for Jeff’s death so that action can be taken.

“Consequently, upon the recommendations of the Homicide experts the body of the deceased has since been exhumed for a fresh autopsy, and toxicological samples obtained in order to establish whether the deceased had taken alcohol prior to the incident and determine its percentage, or any other toxic substances ingested prior to his death.

Similarly, DNA samples have been obtained from the deceased and persons of interest in this case for comparison, to ascertain whether allegations of sexual molestation before the deceased’s death hold water.
Other aspects of investigations including forensic analysis of CCTV footage obtained from the apartment where the incident occurred and cyber analysis of digital data has also been conducted for a comprehensive probe.
In the meantime, we are currently waiting for a report from the government pathologist, which shall inform part of our final course of action.”

Lastly, the DCI Has asked the public and Jeff’s family and friends for patience as the investigation is still on and no matter how long it takes, justice will be served for Jeff.

Jeff had been called by Dj Fatxo to go and help him in the interior designing that they were doing calculations about when moments later he went to the artist’s house only to be found dead a few moments later.

As the stories are, they are a lot of different assumptions from people as per what happened to Jeff, but only the Homicide detectives together with the Government pathologist hold the final answer and so everybody awaits.
