Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie has apologized to Kenyans over his recent remarks that caused rage among them.

Apologies

The MP felt the pressure of angry Kenyans who took to social media to call him out. For the latter reason, he went ahead to share a heartfelt apology in hand-written format.

“I truly apologise for comments I made regarding the protest and the authenticity of certain images. In the heat of the moment, during the debate on the Finance Bill, my words were unnecessary, misguided and insensitive. I have definitely learnt a lot from this and also from all the active listening I have done since”  Kiarie began.

He further praised the Gen Z’s for their courage in active participation in fighting against the bill.

”I appreciate and celebrate the courage and creativity shown by the younger generation in advocating for change through innovative channels and platforms including social media and other emerging technologies.”

Kiarie’s apology comes at a time when the protests are expected to be intense; with most people promising to turn up for tomorrow’s demonstrations.
