Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has come out strongly against claims that President William Ruto is planning to rig the 2027 General Election. Calling the allegations “baseless” and “politically motivated,” Ruku said the government will let its development record speak for itself at the ballot.

  • CS Ruku says rigging claims are a distraction from real issues.
  • He insists Ruto’s development agenda is strong enough to secure re-election.
  • Over KSh 3 billion has been invested in Taita Taveta County alone.
  • Kenya Kwanza leaders pledge support for a free, fair 2027 election.
  • Opposition urged to focus on alternative policy ideas instead of propaganda.

Main Story

Speaking in Mwatate, Taita Taveta County, CS Geoffrey Ruku responded to recent allegations suggesting that President William Ruto intends to manipulate the 2027 elections. He dismissed the accusations as empty political talk meant to discredit the Kenya Kwanza administration.

“This is cheap propaganda. Ruto will be re-elected because of his service delivery, not political gimmicks,” said Ruku.

The CS highlighted ongoing development projects as evidence of Kenya Kwanza’s focus on uplifting ordinary Kenyans. In Taita Taveta alone, the government has injected over KSh 3 billion into infrastructure, housing, and market upgrades. He noted that these efforts — not underhand tactics are what will secure Ruto’s mandate.

Projects mentioned include the Elasit–Njukini–Taveta and Mtomwagodi–Bare–Idage–Bura roads, a KSh 2 billion affordable housing programme, and rural electrification works.

Ruku emphasized that the government respects the Constitution and will not interfere with the independence of the electoral process. He said leaders should focus on issue-based politics, not fear-mongering.

Other Kenya Kwanza leaders have echoed this message, saying Ruto is focused on delivery, not disruption, as the countdown to 2027 begins.

As political temperatures rise, CS Ruku’s message is clear: let the ballot reflect performance not paranoia.
