Ronaldo, renowned for his competitive spirit and unwavering commitment to excellence, acknowledged that while he hasn’t set an official retirement date, he is contemplating stepping away from the game within the next few years. “I’m not sure if I’ll retire soon or in two or three years, but it will likely be at Al Nassr. This is the team where I’m happy, where I feel good, both in the country and in the league,” Said Ronaldo

Despite ongoing speculation about a return to his boyhood club, Sporting Lisbon, Ronaldo expressed his satisfaction with life in Saudi Arabia, adding that Al-Nassr could very well be his last team. “I’m happy at this club; I feel good in this country too. I’m happy to play in Saudi Arabia, and I want to continue,” he confirmed.

However, Ronaldo made it clear that his retirement from the national team will be entirely on his terms and won’t be pre-announced. “When I leave the national team, I won’t tell anyone in advance, and it will be a very spontaneous decision on my part but also a very well-thought-out one,” he explained.

For now, Ronaldo remains focused on helping Portugal in their upcoming Nations League matches, stating that he still has more to contribute to his country on the international stage.

Life beyond football: no coaching for Ronaldo

As for his future after football, Ronaldo ruled out becoming a coach, a path many expected him to take. “At the moment, I’m not thinking about being a coach of the first team or any team. It doesn’t even cross my mind; I’ve never thought about it,” he revealed. Instead, he sees himself pursuing different ventures outside of football, though he left the specifics up in the air, saying only, “God knows what the future holds.”

Currently, Ronaldo is playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and remains focused on his football career, even as he approaches the twilight of his playing days. He also continues to make history, receiving recognition for his outstanding achievements.

Ronaldo’s football journey has been nothing short of legendary. With 898 career goals and a record 140 goals in the Champions League, he remains one of the sport’s most iconic figures. To celebrate his accomplishments, UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin will present Ronaldo with a special award, honoring his incredible achievements in the Champions League.

For Ronaldo, the focus remains on enjoying the game while he still can. “I’m happy here, both with the club and in the country. My intention is to continue and keep enjoying football,” he stated.
