Main Story:

DCI Investigation Leads to New Charges

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have accused Sarah Wairimu Kamotho of deliberately misleading police officers and falsifying documents related to her passport, No. BK043532. The DCI says Wairimu went to a police station and reported the passport as lost, prompting the issuance of an abstract based on her statement.

False Affidavit and Passport Application

On the same day, she reportedly visited Pamki House in Nyeri Town, where she appeared before Advocate Muchiri wa Gathoni and swore an affidavit declaring her passport lost. She then presented both documents the abstract and affidavit at the Immigration Department in Nairobi, applying for a replacement passport despite allegedly knowing that her original one was in DCI custody as part of the Tob Cohen murder investigation.

Arraignment at Kibera Law Courts

Following investigations and approval of charges by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), Wairimu was arraigned before Principal Magistrate Zainab Abdul at the Kibera Law Courts. She pleaded not guilty to both charges and was remanded at Lang’ata Women’s Prison.

The case will be mentioned on November 25, 2025, for a pretrial conference as detectives continue probing the new offenses.
