She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a focus on Geography and Kiswahili from Kenyatta University, and she also holds a Master of Education in Leadership and Educational Management from KEMU. At the Kenya Institute of Management, she also studied project management at the Kenya School of Government’s Strategic Leadership and Development Program, and Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) at KNEC.She was suspended from her position by President Ruto a few days before to her resignation, which was accepted by the Kenya Devolution Support Program Committee.

,“It is with immense woe that today I tender my resignation as

commission, I have dispensed my duties diligently, meticulously, and
put up a spirited effort in helping IEBC deal with corporate
governance issues under very difficult circumstances,’ stated Cherera
