The June 18th “Occupy Parliament” protest marked a turning point. Kenyan youth mobilized in unprecedented numbers against the Finance Bill 2024.
However, a surprising aspect of the movement emerged: the relative absence of celebrities and influencers. While the protests themselves were remarkable, this lack of high-profile support sparked a conversation about the role of public figures in political activism.

Some of the celebrities who have been spotted in today’s protest include;
Willis Raburu & his wife Ivy Namu- Willis Raburu recorded himself alongside his wife while chanting ‘reject the finance bill’.
Abel Mutua- He was spotted solo as fans surrounded him.
Nasra Yusuf- The jester was alone as she went on her Instagram live to show the rest of the protesters.
Other numerous celebrities continues to show up including;
Thee Pluto, Octopizzo, Shiks Kapyenga, Azziad Nasenya, Nicholas Kioko, Mungai Eve, among others.
The list continues as the demonstrations continue. Some of these celebrities have lived up to their promise after turning up for the demonstrations.
