This year’s Champions League final is a homecoming of sorts for young midfielder Jude Bellingham. At just 20 years old, he’ll be lining up for Real Madrid against his former club, Borussia Dortmund, and playing on familiar soil. But the pressure won’t faze him.
Bellingham thrives in the biggest moments. In his first season with Real Madrid, he’s already become known for his clutch performances, scoring a staggering 23 goals, including last-minute winners against Barcelona in both La Liga fixtures.
His scoring prowess started early. In his first three away games for Real Madrid, he bagged four goals. His Bernabeu debut was even more dramatic, as he snatched the winning goal in the 95th minute against Getafe. “Speechless,” said teammate David Alaba after that match, and it was only the beginning.
Bellingham continued his heroics with a 94th-minute winner in his Champions League debut against Union Berlin. He then added goals against Girona, Napoli, Osasuna, and Braga to his impressive tally.
