Embakasi East MP Babu Owino is among the renowned leaders who are supporting the reject finance bill demonstrations that are taking place all over the country.
Owino shared his next move to support demonstrating Kenyans by making an invite to them at the parliament.
He shared a video on his socials, inviting them to parliament for a cup of tea.
”Wakenya kesho karibuni bunge nyinyi pia mkunywe chai uko.”
He urged members of parliament to reject the finance bill regardless of the proposed amendments that will be put across in the third reading, adding that he will take legal action if the bill is passed.
”Should this bill be passed, we will go to court. We will ensure that it will not be implemented.”
Babu Owino also requested closure of Universities in order for the students to actively participate in the demonstrations, urging them to turn up in large numbers in the ongoing protests.
”All comrades must come out from different parts of this country and fight for your rights and that of other fellow Kenyans. All vice chancellors make sure universities are closed upto that time we will tell you to open them again because as at now, Kenyans are angry and hungry. Let us all unite and fight against this new funding of education. That is so wrong.”
The protests are expected to continue as the third reading of the finance bill is underway.
