Apart from this, not many know about Ajib Gathoni’s personal life but thanks to a new interview – we now learn who she is and where she comes from.

Speaking recently, Ajib Gathoni revealed she is a Digo from the Mijikenda community in the coast. 

Many people don’t realize that I’m from the Coast, specifically the Digo community, but I understand the confusion because of my name. It’s because my mother is from ‘Murima’ Ajib revealed.

According to the content creator, she grew up in a big family since her dad had married 4 wives, with her being the youngest – although they later divorced at some point in life.

Sadly, my parents separated, but I have immense respect for my father. He had four wives, with my mother being the youngest, she went on.

One thing she however remains proud of is how her father managed to keep his family/home in order – that is his wives and children. 

I truly admire him. What amazes me is how he managed to create harmony among all his wives and children. He made us love one another, and we lived together peacefully for many years. Maybe the harmony had something to do with Islam, I’m not sure. I was born into Islam, but after my parents separated, my mother converted to Christianity.

According to Ajib, the peace within their large family made it possible for the siblings to get along and although she admits not knowing all of them, the fact that there is respect all round means her dad did not fail as a father to his kids hence the admiration.

I’ll be honest, in our large family, I have so many siblings, some of whom I don’t even know, which is why I can’t say exactly how many we are. But what I do know is that I was never fortunate enough to have a brother, Ajib confessed.

Speaking of her mum, Ajib Gathoni revealed that they are very close and sometimes party together seeing that she (the mum) is still very youthful, she concluded saying;

Yes, I do go clubbing with my mother. People find that strange, but whenever I invite her to a party, she always shows up and has a great time. She’s my biggest supporter.
