According to her, she will keep rejecting the finance bill not just because she is a celebrity or one who is popular but because it is the right thing to do, and she is also Kenyan, just like the rest of the other people advocating against its passage.
“I am not a celebrity, and this is not politics; this is me speaking on behalf of all Kenyans and always will be!!!!” Actress Wanjiku wrote on her Instagram page.
She goes on explaining how she has received countless warnings from fellow celebrities telling her to step down from rejecting the Finance Bill as that might cost her a lot, including not getting any business that might involve advertising or working for a certain company. But she remains solid on her decision to reject the 2024 Finance Bill and cares less about what they think about her, as she is doing what is right.
“Most of our celebs have warned me against posts on matters concerning the Finance Bill. Most have told me that I will no longer get gigs. ‘ Aren’t you scared that nobody will want to work with you?”
She is just among the many who are rejecting the Finance Bill; quite a number of people have voted against it and are still campaigning against it.
