Kelvin Mwangi popularly known as Shaniqwa was once a celebrated co!median cum actor who entertained many.
His cross dressing character Shaniqwa saw him bag several cooperate deals that saw him smile to the back until Covid pandemic happened – leading to his ‘down fall.’
- Actor talks about estranged wife abandoning him and son
- According to Kelvin his ex wife left for greener pastures after he lost his job at KTN
- Blames himself
Actor Shaniqwa recently sat down with Dr Ofweneke for a detailed interview, opening up about his life and downfall from the entertainment industry. According to the actor, it all started after he was laid off from KTN media house where he had been working.
Having no job or any other source of income, his wife or rather girlfriend of 10 years Jemutai allegedly started acting out creating issues in their home. From what Shaniqua says, is his ex wife started disrespecting him after realizing he couldn’t support them like he did before.
At the Jemutai had been working at a company Shaniqwa/Kelvin had linked her to – but being one who did not want to share – Jemutai allegedly walked out leaving him to raise their toddler son.

Red flags
Reflecting back, the actor revealed to have ignored obvious signs of infidelity, like the long hours his wife spent on her phone talking to other people.
She started getting calls in the middle of the night, and I would wake up to find her talking to someone. But I ignored it, Kelvin narrated.
He also shared information on Jemutai choosing to hang out with her friends instead of spending time with their son on his birthday. According to Shaniqua his estranged wife has since been gone for 5 years and shows no signs of reuniting with their son.
We were supposed to have a party at a friend’s house, but then she received a call asking her to go to Ruiru. It was odd because it was such an important day, and yet she wanted to leave. I kept asking her why she couldn’t wait. I ignored the signs, but deep down I knew something wasn’t right, he went on.
Although all relationships have their ups and downs – the actor says his son did not deserve what his mother put him through.
Our son didn’t deserve this. He was so young and innocent, but he had to go through so much,” Shaniqwa added.
However looking back at an interview Jemutai had in 2020, she blamed Shaniqwa for pushing her out of their marriage. From what she said is that the guy had a drinking problem and had been cheating on her – making it hard for her to forgive him for all his mistakes.
