Carrol Sonnie opens up about losing her first pregnancy

Kenyan Digital Creator Carrol Sonnie has opened up about having lost her first pregnancy.

In a heartfelt and emotional conversation with Commentator 254, Carrol Sonnie bravely opened up about the pain of losing her first pregnancy, offering a glimpse into one of the most difficult times of her life.

“I had actually lost another child before,” Carrol Sonnie shared while recalling how the moment took a toll on her.

Carol Sonnie was not entirely prepared to have another child afterwards, but considering the fact that she had lost one before, she embraced the pregnancy when it happened.

According to Carrol Sonnie, her current daughter ‘Keilah’ is a rainbow baby because she came right after she had lost one.

“It wasn’t planned. My pregnancy wasn’t planned, but I feel like on the other side it was planned. And when it happened, it didn’t shock me, and when I got it, it was a relief because I had lost one before…..I was like atleast nimeweza ku replace kale kenye nilipoteza.” Carol Sonnie shared.

Definition of a Rainbow Baby

A Rainbow Baby refers to a baby whose been born after the Parents have had a pregnancy loss.

The baby loss community often uses the term rainbow baby to mean a baby born to a family that has previously lost a child to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death or neonatal death, the term symbolizes a fresh hope and light after a dark and traumatic time.

According to research, there are quite a number of signs that can tell one if they are going to give birth to a rainbow baby and below are some of the signs:

Anxiety:This is a normal and understandable feeling when one has a rainbow baby. Another one is that One often gets feelings of grief and guilt along with relief excitement and elation.
